Fabulous trail on a huge preserve. 7 mike hike on intermediate trails. Well maintained too. We didn’t see any bears, but saw their tracks. Very beautiful and will be back! Perfect for your highly needed forest bathing!

Did not like it at all. We ended up doing the whole 7.1 mile loop and there were no options to rest and sit down anywhere except by the camp site mid way. This is a challenging trail, many big trees right on the trail with big tree roots along the trail that you have to step over and around. Alligator blocked our way by laying right on the path and we had to wait and hope it moved as we couldn't turn back the other way. There needs to be a better option to cut through to where it's shorter. There are Mile markers every quarter mile.nLoud boats going up and down the river. Do not recommend for anyone with small children and definitely no stroller. Seen much better will not go back.

Fantastic trail. Walked only 3 miles of the 7.1mi trail and was very impressed by the wildlife, pleasant shade and well-kept boardwalks. Lots of baby gators in late February. Make sure to watch where you step! Tree roots can trip you up. Bring a good amount of water with you. Oh, and bring a pair of binoculars to see birds and reptiles up close!

Excellent Trail! Easy hike. like others have said, go counter-clockwise to hit the hardest tree roots first. We saw an owl, Turtles, alligator, snake, and a bunch of lizards! Get out early before it heats up. We started at 9 and it was getting warm in the last half hour.

This trail is really well maintained and you'll definately see wild life here: gators, snakes, turtles, etc. Few tips: make sure you go after several days with no rain, the trail is shady and gets muddy very easily. Also, the parking lot is not huge, so arrive early especially during the weekends. Finally, I gave it 3 stars because of the noise coming from the boats along the river side, it made the hike to lose the magic of being out in the wild, lots of acoustic pollution!
