High level BJJ with an amazing mix of catch wrestling to form the Hybrid approach to grappling. It will test you but if you keep with it the results are amazing. Great fitness, self defense and if you want to compete a fantastic team. I have owned a gym in the past and just moved here not long ago from SWFLA and was so happy to find this family.

Tonight was my first night and it was awesome! Every single person in that place welcomed me like family! I'll be back! ud83dudcaa

I've been training with Coach Petrone since last July, however I've known of him from his repeated appearances in the IBJJF World Championship podium over the years. His dedication to each students success is unparalleled, his teaching and grappling style is unmatched, and the environment within the gym resembles that of a family. An evolved grappling game and a loss of 40lbs later, I couldn't be happier with the decision of joining the BlackOut Grappling team!!

At the time of this review I have trained at BlackOut Grappling under Coach Petrone for several months. I have trained extensively at another BJJ gym for three years before making the decision to join the BlackOut Grappling team. While the BlackOut Grappling offers a great value for their services, this was no easy decision to make. Yet I had done so under three main points: innovation, experience, and the learning environment.nnInnovationnCoach Petrone is not only a life-long martial artist, but he is also looking to create a new system within the world of submission grappling. His mix of judo, jiu jitsu, folk style and catch wrestling blend seamlessly on the mats under his instruction. He demonstrates time tested BJJ fundamentals while exploring the blurred boundaries of the aforementioned grappling arts to create a style that is truly unique.nnExperiencenCoach Petrone and his son Vincent, are well known in BJJ and catch wrestling circles as decorated grapplers. Respected in the sport with accreditations to support these claims, they have also worked with and learned from icons such as Gene Mills , Bobby Weaver, Wade Schalles, Bill Wicks, and Din Thomas.nnLearning EnvironmentnThe BlackOut grappling training area is a clean, safe environment to learn new skills or hone your existing grappling experience. The parking lot is safe, well lit and patrolled by security officers (via the Orange City Card Room) throughout the day and night. But what makes this environment special is Coach Petron's attention to his student's individual needs and the sense of team camaraderie he has built both on and off the mats. As a new member of BlackOut grappling, Coach Petrone and Vincent will assess your skills and give one on one feedback to increase your grappling effectiveness, all while being encouraged by the friendly members of the BlackOut crew.
