What a nightmare... We were planning a move to Tallahassee and had a contract on a house. My wife wanted to find a gym and was excited when she and ran across 9round. She signed up online with them. Unfortunately, our house contract fell through and we ended up not moving. When my wife called to cancel the membership they said the only option was to come in person or send a certified letter. We live almost 5 hours away. We had other local memberships that we signed up for and without exception all the other companies we're easy to work with and accommodated our cancellations (even Costco). Our fault for not reading the fine print, but the gym management was not flexible and really didn't care to even try to work something out. So, be VERY CAREFUL... you can sign up online, but you cannot cancel online. Read the fine print closely, or better yet, find a better gym... There are plenty of other better options out there.nWe ended up having to cancel our credit card to stop the chargesnnEdited to reply to Owner's reply:nYes, you are exactly correct. Your agreement is clearly defined and you stuck to it with the full weight of the agreement. And yet without exception all of the other companies we had signed agreements with were a pleasure to deal with and had empathy to our somewhat unique situation.nThey each had well defined agreements as well, but somehow all of them were flexible, and allowed us to cancel without penalty. Your organization was the single outlier.nnI get it, and fully admit it was our mistake to have signed up with you in the first place. I'm just trying to keep others from making the same mistake we did.

Cancellation nightmare. I canceled in writing with 30 day notice. They continue to Bill my credit card and send late notices. When I finally reach a person at customer service she was extremely rude and said I did not cancel. She would not even let me send her my proof of cancellation. She just said no you didn’t it not in my system. It’s unfortunate for the local gym because the trainers were great and we might have gone back after COVID but not a chance now due to corporate customer service.

Cancelling is a nightmare. For 3 months I have been trying to get up with them. I left voicemails, sent texts and sent an email. They would not pick up the phone. When I finally got up with someone, they told me they were open until 1pm, I got there at 12:30pm, they were closed. They did not call me back until I finally disputed the charge. They then went on to charge me late fees on the disputed charge. I could not cancel my membership until I paid those late fees and this all had to be done in person. NO ONE was wearing a mask there. I was told when I signed up that I could cancel any time after the 3 month contract however they are continuing to charge me through November. I guess shame on me for not reading the fine print. I loved the work out and would have signed back up after the pandemic, I am just not comfortable working out in such a small room with people not wearing masks. What a shame that management did not care about the concerns of the pandemic and allowing customers to cancel or suspend their membership until after the pandemic. For a small boutique gym, their management and customer service is just awful. DO NOT SIGN UP.

I enjoy that 9Rounds always provides a challenging full body workout, so I can accomplish my fitness goals.

Please do not sign a contract with this place. They will ask you to jump through all types of hoops to cancel the contract, and will extend your contract without you agreeing to it. They also will not accept an email stating that you do not want to auto renew. Why would an email not be good enough, especially during this time when most are trying to distance from people. I know the answer to that question, because they want to balloon your bill and will all of a sudden charge 400 dollars that they don't deserve. Greedy and selfish during a very financially stressful time for some people. If you do right by people, you might get them back when their situation allows. I chose this place because I do enjoy boxing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a place that has business practices like this.nAdded after original post...UPDATE.nMy contract ended in August. I sent them a certified letter on July 20th to cancel my policy, which I recieved confirmation that my letter was recieved shortly after. I called early August to make sure the membership was cancelled. They stated that they could not cancel my policy until I paid all their ridiculous charges in full. Well I paid them off in full with a charge card. I had blocked them on my debit card due to them continuing to charge during covid shutdown. I thought the 9 rounds drama was done.nWell to my dismay on 9/11, I received charges on that same credit card, which I did not authorize. They failed to cancel my policy and put me on monthly recurring charges. They are refusing to give my money back stating that they did not have my cancellation letter. I was so upset with myself for not keeping the card they sent back confirming they recieved it, because I should have known they would be this corrupt by their previous actions. I went to the post office with my transaction number(from paying for the letter mailing with my debit card), and post office staff stated that since it was over a month, they couldn't pull up the tracking number. Dead end.nI called the gym on 9/11 asking them to give me my money back. I told them that I have exhausted everything to get proof, without success. I have all types of emails and text messages from June and July stating that I did not want to renew, which is when I found out that those methods of communication was unacceptable for cancellation. I just wanted to be done with them so I did everything they required from paying money I did not owe(almost $600), and sending a certified letter. I have not used their gym in over 5 months. They are still refusing to give me my money back. I am sending a second letter, and you better believe that I will keep the returned card until I have verification that they have cancelled my membership. It is sad that some businesses choose unethical practices to TAKE money, but just know that you will lose in the end. People will catch on and spread the word. Do not use this gym, if you care about fair billing practices.
