This was our second time at Back Deck this season and it didn't disappoint. We took 9 friends and family with us and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We loved the Sunset Sangria. Everyone enjoyed their lunches, but also loved being right on the water. The shrimp tacos are the best! Can't wait to return when we return to VA beach.

Great place and really cool idea for a restaurant. Being right on the water eating seafood is an experience. The view is gorgeous and the sunset there is one of a kind. The atmosphere is very causal seat yourself kind of place. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service is a not the best and generally slow with taking your order. The menu is a little limited on options as well so really only go if you want straight seafood. They do great take out as well.

Had the Tuna tacos, couldn’t hardly tell there was tuna on them because of all the salsa. The crab dip tasted like crab but could see any crab in it. The rest of the food was ok at best. Probably won’t be back for another dinner seeing how this was my first time eating there.

We went on a beautiful night in June, and the place was packed. We were lucky… A table for two opened up right as we came down the steps. They had lots of drinks to pick from… We had mango crushes. They did not have as much seafood as we thought they would have, but what they did have — in the way of casual pub fare — was very good. We had the shrimp nachos and the scallop-cake sliders along with some steamed crab legs. No one server is assigned your table… You just call over any server passing by... so service can be a little inattentive — but the staff was friendly. We’ll go back!
