Wonderful hike. I'd you do both Johnson Arch and Scout Cave it's about 5 miles round trip. Dogs are allowed on the Scount Cave trail, but not Johnson Canyon. Moderate hike, definitely worked up a sweat and had a few hard parts, but so worth the trip.

This trail makes for a great walk/hike. If you start from the Johnson Arch parking area it is roughly a 2 mile one way trip to the Scout Cave. There is some lava rock to traverse, a hill to walk down, a river to cross, a wash to walk through, and then some great stairs to climb near the end. In the summer it can be brutal hot, so try to start early. This trail is also very popular, so the parking lot does fill up and you will likely run into several people and lots of dogs. If you take your dog, please clean up after them and pack their poop out, there is a garbage can near the trailhead.
