Jackson Glacier Overlook

Beautiful spot (the whole park is beautiful) with a view to one of the park’s bigger glaciers. Parking is difficult.nIt is a beautiful view, but me and my husband couldn’t see the difference between a glacier and just a snow-topped mountain, so even though it was beautiful, it didn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary.nWe weren’t stunned by the glaciers we saw at the park, but there is no doubt that the glaciers create beautiful waterfalls throughout the park and contribute to the stunning scenery.

Absolutely stunning every time I visit, shall never tire of the majestic world of phenomenally beautiful landscapes. Breathtaking

Viewpoint or exhibit site to see the Jackson glacier with great information about glaciers here. Reversing out of the parking lot can be a bit tricky so definitely be careful!

Parked here to hike to gunsight lake. The trail descends for the first mile then levels for the next 3 before a gradual incline for the final 2 miles. If you think the views of the glacier are good from the overlook, it will blow your mind from the trail. With an awesome alpine lake at the end. It is rather strenuous because the last mile out is uphill. Remember your bug and bear spray both frequent the trail.

No trouble finding parking in the afternoon. Informative plaques and on a clear day you can easily see the glacier.
