Amazing views and a boat load of history. Something for everyone here, I even plan on having my wedding here. If the house isn't your thing maybe the plants or the actual building. This place is amazing and at $5 currently it's a great visit. Well worth the visit and you for sure get your money's worth.

Beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and San Clemente Pier. Decent selection of native flora and well kept gardens. Very interesting history of the area. Bust of President Nixon in gift shop. Free parking and only $5.00 entry fee. Building is old Spanish architecture and very well maintained.

Went to a wedding here on Saturday. Classy place, beautiful ocean views, and tucked inside a neighborhood overlooking the big long pier in San Clemente. What a nice break from Chicago this was. The staff were very personably and they did a great job reeling in my family (which is a traditionally rowdy bunch). Food was buffet style, and very good. Those potatoes were a work of art, whatever they were. Lastly, I have to mention that there was a VERY well-tended fire in the side fireplace during dinner, and it was a fire fit for a king...or for Emperor Nero himself, if you prefer (R.I.P. Emperor Nero, 68 AD).

Wonderful, historical place that is beautifully restored and maintained. We loved the view of the Pacific and the pier from the beautiful garden. I recommend this for locals and visitors alike.

This wonderful place is easily five-star. It's a former mansion built in the late 1920s by one of the two developers of San Clemente. Not given the Romantica name until a few owners later in the 1940s but that's OK. With the pandemic currently making the house closed for visitors (except the history center/gift shop room) you're coming for the gardens and stunning ocean views. They only charge 5 dollars for admission and parking is free so it's a great deal.nnIf you're a garden connoisseur the plantings will not stagger you with sophistication or rareness, like at the Sherman Library and Gardens. But they're just lovely and well maintained. You can feel the love that the volunteers and staff give to the place. Since this is a cultural and arts center even more than a garden, you should know that most events and exhibitions are cancelled for the pandemic. But a few are still happening, especially for members. I just saw on their Facebook page that construction is about to begin to rehab their parking lot. Check it out online before you go..
