Excellent fishing for brook and rainbow trout. Reservations are a must. Fee is $25 per fisherman with license. Three time slots are available per day. Water is cool, clean and clear.

I have written about Connetquot in the past. In the hustle and bustle world of metro NY it is an Oasis of calm and beauty. There are extensive hiking trails. Beautiful lakes now with changing foliage colors and water fowl. Today on our walk we saw several deer and a tremendous assortment of mushrooms thriving from a wet fall. The fish hatchery area with it's lake, streams, benches and picknic tables is and enjoyable spot to dwell and enjoy nature. There are restrooms available in this area. If you are into trout fishing you need to check the website there are a variety of rules and permits are required. The fishing on the lake near the Mill by the dam spillway can be excellent as it is throughout the designated areas.. Overall Connetquot is a Haven and a place to renew and refresh. We walk there weekly from Fall to Spring. One Note, if you go off of trail or if the trails are over grown Tick repellent is a Must. The trail from the parking area to the Hatchery lake is always well maintained so no worries, however if you come back on the trails east of the Hatchery be careful.
