Limekiln State Campground

It was our first camping trip and we were hyped up for it! We arrived excited set up camp with no regards to the families beside either side of us. Little did we know both those families were going to get so wasted we wouldn’t get a good nights sleep. We had no one to call to have someone come up and quiet them down, and when we did go over to ask if they could quiet down they laughed and got louder. It was until midnight after us driving around trying to find someone did we find the sweetest groundskeeper. He asked them to shush but we barely had a nights sleep. I felt horrible for the couple across from us who had a 3 month old and couldn’t get to sleep from the loud noise.nnIf you’re expecting a quiet camp to get away and relax in nature, then this is not the place. Families everywhere with some who don’t even quiet themselves or their children down after 10pm. No one enforcing the rules.nnI will give it three stars because each lot was pretty private and the groundskeeper was sweet and had us moved. Ultimately, the bad experience ruined our outlook on camping. However, the camp was quite clean.

Camping was great. Well maintained big sites. Beautiful grounds and a beach with lifeguard. The Bear lockers on each site were very convenient. Poor cell phone service. Slim to none. Also ...on the way into the park you will pass many firewood stands. Buyer be warned. Some of it is really wet and wouldn't burn. All in all I would highly recommend taking a break from City Life for a while and visit this place.

Love camping here the park is clean the water is clear the staff is friendly! The bath houses are cleaned daily and the water pressure is high and always hot my kids love taking showers after being in the lake! Been coming up for the past 8 years and will continue to for years to come. Can't wait to get back up there one week away! ud83cudfd5

Love this place! The first time we went up we had site 85 and it wasn't even close to the water and it was amazing. But ever since that year we've booked a site on the water. Once you have a site on the water you cannot not have a site on the water. Campground is always clean and most of the sites are decent size. But if you have a site on the water be careful when going into the water barefoot because it is very rocky. There is a boat launch and all in all I highly recommend this campground.

Beautiful place, friendly staff. Make a reservation online so you can be sure to have a spot. Hiking, small craft, fishing, swimming, walking the paved park loops, and more. Inlet is ~5 minutes away with a gas station, grocer, bike shop, church, and other cute stores. I had cell service in Inlet.
