Remains a folksy temple on City Island. They do not charge any admission for the holiday or daily attendance. Nice option to the insanity of Manhattan
Wonderful uplifting .musical synagogue Jewish Renewal with really nice people in congregation and exceptional Rabbi David Marcus. All welcome and made to feel welcome. 7:30 Friday night service. YOUR SHUL BY THE SEA. It's a treat.
Discovered this temple when I tried the Monday night kundalini yoga class that an acquaintance highly recommended. Met a few congregants after class and was intrigued by their description of services. Reading the prayer book grabbed my attention further, so I thought I'd give them a try. Upon attending services one Friday night with my daughter, I was hooked. I enjoy the quirky nature of the members, the singing, dancing, the rabbi's talk and beginning the weekend together after services with a delicious oneg.
