As a fellow business owner I found it crazy a restaurant would up charge just to use a credit card. The ambiance was good. The food was barely decent. Even my business partners steak was barely enjoyable. I'm a big fan of live music but man it must have been a bad night. Lady sounded like she was singing in the shower. The only positive I can give is that the people who work there such as the hostess and waitress including the security were all courteous. As someone who enjoys going to several different Spanish restaurants I was extremely disappointed. I unfortunately won't ever step back in here and will recommend others to not dine here.
I waited over a month to write this review but even after all this time it still doesn’t sit right with me. I’m hoping this will help others out there the same way I would’ve liked to know before going. On February 16th my partner and I decided to go to dinner here as a late Valentine’s Day celebration. I was able to make a reservation that same afternoon and reserved a 9pm table. To begin, finding the place was a hassle. We called and asked if they could provide any directions and all they said was that it was by a McDonald’s and didn’t know how else to explain it. After 20-25 minutes of trying to find it we eventually did. We had an appetizer, two good entrees, and drinks that were okay. They charge extra just for paying with a card but we had cash anyway so we paid with cash and tipped in cash. Since they have nice setups where you can take pictures my partner and I decided we should take some. We walked over to the car looking seat that is basically in the middle of the whole place and took 3 pictures with my partners phone since mine was dying. I placed my phone behind me on the seat, got up and walked over to the large mirrors to take another few pictures when I realized I didn’t have my phone. It was no longer than 7-8 minutes. I walked back to the seat because that’s clearly where I left it and it was no longer there. I asked the manager and other workers if anybody had turned anything in - nothing. The manager, Chantal, tried looking if it fell in between the cracks of the seat, on the floor, etc - nothing. She checked the cameras and said there was no camera that pointed in that specific direction which is incredibly questionable as to why they wouldn’t. They have two computer registers right behind that seat where all employees process payments so why wouldn’t there be at least one camera there? The manager was nice and spoke to me in a well mannered tone, I had a confused look on my face the whole time because you never expect to go out to a “nice” place for dinner and get your phone stolen. What made me even more confused was when the manager said, “I’m so sorry but yeah this happens all the time and not just with phones, with credit cards too.” I was at a loss for words because if this is clearly a recurring and frequent problem then why wouldn’t it be the owner’s priority to ensure more cameras are in place? She also said that the restaurant is not liable if any other customer steals from another customer. But again, why not protect all your customers in the easiest way possible by installing more cameras. She gave me her card and said that if she didn’t call me by the next day at noon leave it for completely lost. The gentleman who brought us up and down in the elevator was great, I believe his name is Elliot, big thanks to him for his help throughout the whole ordeal. The following day I received no phone call, not even just to let me know that nothing was found. Luckily I was able to purchase a new phone but this outing was definitely not worth the $150 for dinner and the $900 it cost me for the new phone. Never going back to this place again and never recommending anyone to go there either. Please choose your outings wisely!!
I’ll start off by saying that the food, ambiance, and service was excellent. 5 stars all the way! I’m giving 3 stars because despite having reservations we had to wait 30 minutes for a table, it’s wasn’t very easy finding the location and we waited over an hour for the food to arrive. A couple that came in at the same time as we did, received their food, ate their food, packed to go containers, paid, and took pictures and our food still hadn’t arrived. I definitely have a feeling that this is normal for this establishment. No one seemed concerned that our food took 75 minutes to come out. Perhaps it’s a way to have guests order a few rounds of drinks? Either way the food was absolutely delicious, wait staff was very nice, and everyone else who worked there was warm and welcoming.
We had a great experience at Zona de Cuba, the food was delicious! The setting of the rooftop restaurant was amazing with palm trees and a live band playing. We really enjoyed our time there. I ordered the snapper with scallops & shrimp and it was good. Emily was our waitress for the night and she was great!
By far the best food I’ve had in a while! The ambiance makes it even better, great live band, and you can see the sun set from the outdoor seating. If you haven’t been here yet... what are you waiting for!?
