Nice and grassy, large trees, friendly, clean, great walking paths. The road noises from hwy are loud, especially at night. Plenty of train noises too.

While the campground and the park are very nice and very well maintained the location is not what comes to mind when I think of a state park. Due to it close proximity to I-80, the railroad tracks and the airport; the sounds you have are not of nature but the constant din of the interstate (with the occasional sound of rumble strips), train rumbling and whistles and the occasional airplane taking off and landing. As loud as it was I would definently not recommend staying in a tent here.

Had a fantastic weekend here. We went to the zoo and it wasn't too bad of a drive. The marina is fin to sit and relax at. $1 for fish/bird food. We stayed at campsite 137. It was electric only, very flat. Potable water fill up at dump station
