Hertz

HORRIBLE, DECEIVING--DO NOT RECOMMEND. I would leave negative stars if possible. I got a rental car through Hertz that smelled like a pack of cigarettes had just been smoked in it--DISGUSTING. But that's not why I'm leaving this review. The Hertz representatives are EXTREMELY DECEIVING. When I called to get my rental car they said it would be about $4 per day, which sounded great. They also asked if I'd rather fill the tank up before I returned the rental or if I'd rather pay them $2.25 to refill it once I returned it. Of course, at $2.25 a gallon I went with that option. Well, when I was charged by Hertz the total was around $68, which seemed a little high based on what we agreed upon. They never sent me a itemized receipt of the charges so I contacted them. They said the rental car was around $32, which sounded accurate but the charge for gas was around $36. This didn't make sense to me because I used less than half of a tank in a compact vehicle. Come to find out the representatives here will deceive you. If you go with their gas at $2.25 per gallon, they will charge you to refill the ENTIRE tank, not just what you use. Never once was it explained that I would be paying for gas that I didn't use. The worst part is the representatives here don't think they're doing anything wrong. And, they don't record phone calls either so they can't confirm that I was mislead. I will never use this company again.

I was charged a late fee when it was returned before I was told it needed to be. I also had an issue with tolls. I called and it took almost an hour until I finally hung up. I couldn't understand what the man on the phone was saying. His accent was not understandable. I asked multiple times to speak to anyone else and was not transferred.

Was told to be there at noon to pick up our car. Drove 75 miles, got there at 11:30 and had to wait until 3 for it to get an oil change ud83dude44

Place was not prepared and waited over an hour for a reservation that I made on the 2nd, today is the 8th!!. Did not have my vehicle that was supposed to be a full size. Got a SUV that was dirty and smelled like smoke with only 10,300 miles on it. Will never drive 50 miles to that location ever again. Not trained or well staffed people on hand. What a poor experience to the start of my trip. I will speak directly to hertz about this disaster and expect some money back and the free extension of an extra day for the waste of my time!ud83dude24ud83dudc4e

The manager couldn't tell me why Hertz had a $300 hold on my account. I had to call a different store to find out insurance had not paid out yet. I was furious!
