Absolutely gorgeous, great technical trails, so much fun! We have biked and hiked- and swam. The beach area and water are beautiful. I haven't seen this blue-green water anywhere else. The old mining pits are a breathtaking backdrop (and drop!), and the water is so cold and clear. A lot of the trails are super difficult but fun. Plenty are more doable levels. The area town is super cute and fun, with plenty of great places to eat and shop. Area campgrounds are very nice- either the Chisholm campground or Mcacarthys beach 15 minutes north in the Side Lake area. McCarthys is one of the best campgrounds you will ever visit- rustic with virgin white pines towering above, plus a huge sugar sand beach that is shallow and perfect for kids. The Redhead is definitely a great family getaway.
What is there that cannot be boasted about? Trails for all riding levels, wonderful views, diverse geography, and all within the uniqueness of an old mining pit. There is nothing like Redhead! We have been riding these trails all spring and summer and they are still challenging and fun. Redhead is not a place to miss!
Went for a hike today on a few of the trails here, will definitely be back to explore them all! Only saw 3 guys on bikes, we just stepped off to the side to let them by. All were friendly and said hi or talked a bit. Great addition for our community as there's not much to do up here. Trails have tons of different elevation and terrain so really fun!
Probably my favorite mountain bike trail system
This is an excellent trail system that I believe opened in 2019... I spoke to someone who works on the trails and he said they have plans for adding more trails as funding becomes available.nnThis trail system was once an iron mining area. Beginner, intermediate and advanced trails that offer beautiful views and exceptional riding
