This bank is too concerned with virtue signaling and pandering to woke culture than actually banking. After 23 years I closed my account due to poor customer experience. Get woke go broke.
I had a frustrating, tedious, unprofessional relationship with Endura Financial when I got an auto loan with Endura to finance a used car. Endura continuously made mistakes in the process but never informed me about them. It took repeated inquiries from be about the situation to find out about the mistakes and delays. I applied for a loan/purchased a car in October 2010 and received the title in June 2012. It took Endura more than a year and a half to successfully transfer my title and never honestly apologized or offered to make up for my time dealing with their incompetence.nnI purchased an out-of-state car, and I understand there can be bureaucratic obstacles when making such purchases and title transfers, but Endura's failure to quickly resolve the issues or communicate with me regarding the status was unacceptable. Luckily I like my car and continue to own it, but Endura's mistakes would have made it virtually impossible for me to sell my car during the period that they didn't resolve this issue.nnIn the end, I paid off my loan early just so I didn't have to continue any relationship with Endura. I will never, ever use their services again and can't recommend any else use them either.nnWhat follows is the (paraphrased) story of Endura's incompetence over my auto loan and title transfer process for anyone who wants the full story.nnWhen I went through the loan approval process, I met with a loan officer who walked me through the steps. He gave me expected timeframes for when I could expect the title to transfer (from a different state) and get my Minnesota license plates.nnAfter the timeframe that he gave me with no word from him regarding the status, I repeatedly tried to contact the Endura loan officer. I received no communication from him in return.nnI eventually got a hold of another employee, who then told me that the loan officer I had worked with was no longer employed by Endura. At some point, my Endura Financial loan officer left the company and I was never informed of the situation. I did not get a single call or email letting me know that he was gone and nothing was being done. It was not until I called Endura that I was informed that I was my title transfer was not being taken care of, as promised.nnI was assigned to another person who assessed the situation and told me that Endura had a 3rd-party service that could take care of this faster than I could and any involvement by me would slow or hurt this process.nnAfter the timeframe given to me, I contacted them again and the second person told me that nothing had been done and I had to do a few things to get it fixed.nnThis process of having to track down the status of my title transfer myself, instead of being given updates, continued on for more than 1.5 years. Once I was transferred to my third processor, she was finally very nice and able to help me out.
Recently (May of 2013) Endura Financial has changed their back-end systems for online and electronic banking. One MAJOR difference in this is how some of the automated Bill Pay systems work. Specifically on the previous system, when a check was cut from your account for an automated bill payment, the funds were taken from your account. On the new system this is not the case, rather the funds are removed from your account whenever the other party actually cashes or deposits your check. It may seem little, but for times when you might be living paycheck to paycheck, this could cause a cascade of $29 fees.nnAgain, its a small change, but one with a fairly significant impact for some people. I rarely had an issue with fees for years with Endura Financial, at least not until they switched to their new systems.nnBTW I know they probably wont admit it, but this way they can try to force you to use their credit/debit cards for making some payments rather than other systems (like PayPal) as they generally don't charge you any fees with their usage. This equals more money for them as they will charge vendors for using their Mastercards, rather than those fees going to another business. It might not the actual reason they do so, but its a nice little side effect for them.nnAgain, I have been a member with them for many years, going all the way back to when they were Honeywell FCU, but all these recent changes they have been making seems to mimic many of the other big banks (Wells Fargo, US Bank, TCF, etc.) which is one of the many reasons people bank with credit unions. They have had a good track record with me in the past, but these recent changes do make me a bit wary of where they are heading. If you are looking for a new credit union to bank with, keep these thoughts in mind when looking. You just might find something else better in your area.
This credit union is inside Honeywell and does not appear to be available to the public.
Is the Minneapolis location a Honeywell? Where is your signage?!?
