This was, by far, the most peaceful camping spot of our entire 2020 road trip. The campsites are perfectly sized, and privately laid out. The bathrooms/showers are excellent (Although they should've all been open, as social distancing is perfectly easy when the restrooms and showers are all independent, and accessible from individual outside doors). The peaceful walking/light hiking paths were very pleasant. The lightning bugs were terrific! I LOVED this camping spot. Will return!!

A nice state park, multiple trails that are generally easy. There are hills that some may find challenging. Trails are a mix of prairie and woods. I did not camp, but park as a whole is clean and well kept. Des Moines River appears quite low on my visit.

Nice, quiet park. Really nice trails with lots of ups and downs. Small campground that's pretty open so exposed to the strong winds that were present while we were there.
