I went here originally because I lived in the area, and I always got a great haircut. After moving to Seattle nearly 6 years ago, I continue to come down to Razor's Edge in Des Moines for my haircuts. The reason is that they always provide friendly reliable service. Joel and his daughter Lydia are so kind and proficient. They rotate in different players for the 3rd chair, and whoever they bring in is always equally kind and talented. I've literally had haircuts from all the barbers there, and all of them have listened to my specific requests and taken the time to deliver the cut I requested. I always leave happy and looking and feeling good.
A good old fashioned traditional family owned barber shop. With decades of experience, these folks have perfected the art of top notch haircuts and beard trims. So glad to have found this hidden gem.
Joel and company are outstanding at whatever your needs are. Razors's Edge has the old school feel of Barber shops of the past.
Staff not friendly to people of color. Came in and nobody in the store recognized me and then got a passive aggressive tone when I asked if they had any free slots within the next few hours. The haircut was the most lazy haircut I ever got. Asked for a buzz cut with a fade and he just passed the number 3 evenly around my head. Staff talked a lot about politics and mentioned how Coronavirus is a hoax.
Great full service barbershop. I've been a regular here over 30 years.
