John is a fantastic mechanic who I unhesitatingly recommend for all manner of car/small truck repair. Attention to detail, smart, honest and fair priced are just some of the words to describe the man and the service you'll receive. He works alone and has a schedule so call at the first sign of trouble, or better yet, schedule appointments periodically to keep your vehicle trouble free and driving smoothly. While he does not offer state inspections, he will inspect your vehicle prior to make sure it passes.
This is the best place for antique car repair EVER! Mr. Shepherd spent forty minutes explaining to me every single thing he did to rehabilitate my 1961MGA. I have never had a mechanic take so much care with my car. He even apologized for something that cost a bit more than he had told me because there were two small e tea parts that needed replacing. With this kind of attention I had expected a large bill but the cost was extremely reasonable and she has never run better. I go in about once a year—just taking her in this next week—and looking forward to the experience. As an aside, I attended the Transportation Museum auction last year and an Alfa Romeo fetched a few thousand more there in my estimation BECAUSE It had been worked in by Mr. Shepherd.
John does great work and fixed in one day what six other mechanics were unable to fix in five months! After one experience with him I will not take my car anywhere else.
