The long delayed remodeling project is such an incredible let down. The very expensive membership facility feel like a poorly funded community center. So many of the things that made the club a great place prior to the remodel have now been eliminated and permanently changed. The offering of group exercises has been significantly reduced and restructured. The spaces for the group exercises are now small, poorly lit, stress more of a night club sound system that drowns out being able to hear and understand the leader, and the lit of other objections would be long. Covid hasn't helped, but the majority of the troubles with Midtown 2021 have to do with a poorly managed remodel project that is 18 months old and still in progress, a poorly designed and decorated set of spaces, and an incredibly weak list of offerings to make it desirable to go. To be clear, many of us that continue to go have voiced our concerns but they would appear to go unacknowledged so no improvement is anticipated soon.
Terrible experience at this fitness center. Contacted staff numerous times to cancel my membership when the place was shutdown due to Covid. It took numerous emails for any response, they stated there would be a “hold fee” which was a fraction of the regular monthly cost. This was a blatant Lie as they kept charging the full monthly dues. The staff refused to provide a refund when I requested a refund for the difference of full monthly dues and hold fee. Long story short - go to Lake forest health and fitness or Lifetime - this place is terrible and has terrible customer service. I was going to join back full time once the place opened up - zero chances now.
Great place been a member for a couple years now and the renovation is really spectacular really love it!! Also the commitment to stay open during Corona is really something and the safety precautions are excellent!! Stay safe and open!!
Overall this is a great club. Two small complaints: Shower pressure is bad and sometime locker room floor is dirty
They are doing their best to comply with CDC rules. They are professional and patient with everyone.
