If I could give them zero stars I would. I hired this law firm back in 2016 for a DUI & obstruction of justice case. The representation was absolutely poor. I paid them $5500 for nothing, a public defender could have gotten me a better deal. I spent 61 days in jail and the attorney only came to visit me once, and it was not to talk about my case. They came to tell me that if I did not pay the remaining $500 by my next court date, they would deny my deal with the state's attorney, not to mention I paid them $5000 within the first 2 weeks of hiring them. My mother passed while I was in jail and they would not even answer the phone or return my call regarding a furlough until it was too late. To this day I have never received or even seen my discovery. I was 20 years old with a clean background and they had me walk away with a felony for lying to the police about my name. I also provided them with proof from my medical doctors that I suffered from Major Bipolar Depression alongside extreme anxiety and they did not use that information to get me a better deal. Fast forward to today they refuse to assist me with what I paid them for and that's to get my license reinstated. I asked if they could just tell me the steps that I would need to take and was told that they could not assist me and to go hire another lawyer. I am constantly being told by the SOS and the courts to contact the lawyers that were representing me to go about getting my license back. The secretary is extremely rude, in fact when expressing my confusion on why I could not speak to anybody she told me to be quiet with a nasty tone. I have also asked for copies of my file with them and they are giving me the run around. I seen the actual attorney who handled my case once and he apologized for how my case was handled and informed me that he no longer works for Ramsell and Associates and actually quit a short while after my case. Overall my experience with this law group was a disappointment. I feel as though I was taken advantage of because I was a young black female and they did not care about my case. To them I was just another dollar. It is often said that certain lawyers and the states attorneys work together and trade cases ( in a sense of if you let me win this case I will let you win the next) and I truly believe that is what happened to me. There is no way that a 20 year old with no background and documented mental illnesses should have walked away with a felony for lying to the police about her name because she had weed (not even a gram) in the car and was scared. My life from that point of my life one has been extremely difficult and Ramsell and Associates failed to execute what was promised. To anyone that is black I highly suggest that you do not hire this firm because they will take your money and turn around and play with your freedom. They do not care about their clients.
