There is a footpath on top of an esker (ridgeline) that is so quiet and remote you’ll think you're in the Kettle Moraine region of Wisconsin (without the high Wisconsin fees). It's a little wild, but Cap Sauers is a great place to lose yourself if you're a hiker. Always LOVE hiking here!

It was wonderful to observe the signs of spring including prescribed burning and hearing the chorus frogs.

I really don't want to post this publicly, but this is absolutely my favorite preserve! The silence in that preserve has got to be the quietest place in the entire county. I love this place.

If you like walking trails birding and just being out in nature cap sauers holding it's definitely worth the trip biking horseback riding almost anything you can think to do and of course the old toboggan slide stairs are there for you to climb for exercise.

Did about 7 miles of the blue, green and yellow trail. Very quiet, not too many people, few mountain bikes and lots of bugs (mosquitoes)!nBecause all the parking lots were closed we had to park on the Calumet Sag Rd which was not convenient.
