I don't know why this place gets some poor reviews. It's really great. the trees are leafing out, there is shade, there is water, it's a huge space which one of my dogs loves, there are usually a good number of nice dogs and people, the parking is good - what's not to like?

Almost every single time I go lately there are huge dogs in the small dog area and my 5 pound pup can’t relax and enjoy herself. The owners say “oh it’s friendly don’t worry”, well that’s great but mine needs space and isn’t so friendly when a 70 pound young and hyper dog comes running at her trying to play, it puts her on edge and she spends the entire time hiding under the bench. Take big dogs to their area! There a few older ones who are calm and don’t cause issues, but I wish other owners would just follow the rules and let everyone enjoy their time here.

Lots of space for the dogs. They have added large gravel to help with drainage, but unfortunately no one thought about wheelchair accessibly. One of my son's favorite outdoor activities is to take his service dog to the park, throw a ball, etc. But now we can't get past the gravel. His wheelchair wheels can't go through. They created a nice covered picnic , if they had only built a sidewalk to access it. I hope Huntsville sees this and gives back a 13 yr old boy and other people that use equipment the ability to access a public dog park just like everyone else. He was very sad today when I had to take our dog in the area to potty, and he had to watch from the entrance fence. Of course she did her business and we left, but it really made us all sad. ♿
