I heard good things about the Mon River Trail, so we stopped here during our visit. If I lived in town I'd probably come here regularly for a hike or a bike ride, but it's not worth traveling here for alone. There are few easy views of the river, and you have to scramble down if you want to get to it up close. It might get better further south, but we only went down a mile or so.

This place is right along the trail under and near I79 highway bridge. There's a small boat dock here. Parking is limited to perhaps a dozen vehicles. There is no public bathroom or water fountain available. But this place is what it is and that would be a nice remote access to the trail several miles south of Morgantown at approximately TRAIL mile marker 13 as measured zero being at the northern Pennsylvania West Virginia state line approximately at Pointe Marion, PA
