My divorce case settled in mediation last week. I feel like a load has been lifted and I am excited to finally be able to move on. Mr. Watkins, you are genuinely a nice people. You were empathetic toward us. I felt like you really understood what we had to go through and you guided us in a way that allowed us to finally put aside the fight. I couldn’t believe that I was actually able to finally laugh, thank you for sharing your sense of humor and perspective. I also want to thank you for taking the time to visit with my daughter, which allowed her wishes to be addressed in our agreement. It felt much less daunting and overwhelming. Mr. Perkins returned my call promptly, even during the crazy ice storm of Feb 2021. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Although he didn't practice the kind of law I needed help with, he referred me to two colleagues who could help, and still gave me advice on what I would need to do on my end. The judge ordered us to go back to mediation in our divorce, even though we had already tried mediation which was not successful. We asked the Judge if we could use a different mediator because our previous mediator did not seem to have the knack for a case as complex as mine. The judge suggested we try Mr Watkins in Greenville. Mr Watkins’ approach to the mediation was much different than our previous mediator. He took the time needed with both sides to learn about our case. He was so patient and he was responsive to my lawyer’s questions. He offered valuable suggestions. When it looked as if our mediation might not settle again, Mr Watkins didn’t give up, and somehow he managed to pull us together and reach an agreement. I highly recommend Mr Watkins. He’s a no nonsense fact gatherer with an excellent ability to process the reality of the situation. He helped me process my emotions, used humor effectively and helped me bring focus to my situation . He is a compassionate, caring mediator.
