Air conditioner not working correctly.nSo bad, and family told us they had that room last year and complained. No staff. No maid service. You the take linen & towels to office to exchange it out, really. No breakfast that was suppose to come with room. Reservations not correct. Never saw an employee, other than check-in. I could go on, but I will never go back againnnDone!
We spent a very pleasant long weekend at a cabin at Henry Horton State Park. The cabin was VERY clean with comfortable beds, although the sheets were too small and kept coming off. Our cabin had a wood-burning fireplace that we enjoyed, but note you have to buy wood at the lodge. A $5 bundle will last a 2-3 hours, and you’ll need kindling or a fire starter. The park is beautiful and quiet, except for the occasional loud truck on the highway. The park restaurant is closed for a few months while they build some new buildings. Free WiFi internet provided was not fast, but stable and usable. All the various staff I talked to were very friendly and helpful.
Very clean cabins and so peaceful
These cabins were just what we needed. The kitchen is a good size and fairly well equipped. Bring extra dish soap just in case. There were 2 large bathrooms with showers, and one had a sink outside of the bathroom. There's room in the bedrooms to add air mattresses if needed. The large couch in the living room moved around a lot, but was pretty comfy. I do not recommend sleeping on the fold out couch bed. Sleep directly on the couch instead. The thermostat worked very well, and an electric fireplace heats things up quickly if you're extra cold. Extra blankets and sheets can be found in a closet, and there's access to a fire pit just outside. Very comfy cabins! Definitely recommend if you're not up for tent camping!
Dated interiors and rooms, otherwise cozy, nice pool and camping.
