Cornerstone Christian School

PARENTS BEWARE, MUST READ!! Horrible experience! Principal and teachers were emotionally abusive to my child. My 6 year old daughter attended this school for the first 3 weeks of the 2017-18 school year, with her 4 year old brother. I write this, not to bash the school, but to make sure that no other child gets hurt the way that mine did. My daughter attended another private school in the Camden area for three years prior to her transfer to Cornerstone. Not once did I ever have a call home or complaint about my daughters behavior. Before writing this, I want everyone to know that I am not one of these parents who thinks that their child can do no wrong. Kids will be kids, and no one is perfect, including my own. From the start of her time at Cornerstone, it seemed like she was getting in trouble daily, and sometimes for some pretty petty stuff. Multiple times, I got called during these 3 weeks during work to come get her, and not because she was threatening kids or hitting, but simply for things like not staying in line and not coming when called. During the last call on the third week of enrollment, I received a call asking to pick her up, and it was stated that she had 7-8 tantrums in that one day. Upon picking her up, the principal/teacher informed me that her and another teacher had video recorded her actions on their private iphones (which is a total violation of privacy, not to mention unethical.) After seeing these videos, I was shocked that they would have even tried to show them to me. They showed about ten seconds of my child having a tantrum on the floor, but what came next in the video was horrifying. For a total of close to 2 minutes after the tantrum, it showed them following her around, chasing her around the classroom as she tried to hide from the camera. She then tried to leave the room as another teacher got in her way and made her stay to be tormented. The video ends with a 6 year old little girl cowering under a students desk in the fetal position, balling her eyes out because not only were all the kids in the classroom laughing at the situation, but the adults, who were suppose to be protecting my child, were tormenting her to the point that she just crouched down, hid in fear and gave up. Since my child ha left this school, I have not had another complaint about her behavior. DO NOT LET SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN TO YOUR CHILD!!! It may not seem quite so bad until it's your own child being tormented by the people that were suppose to protect her. If I could post this video on here, I would. But I want everyone to know my child's story, so that hopefully, it will protect other children in the future.
