The beach was alright but lots of glass in the sand. Water is obviously not going to be that deep, but the muck you get into is just nasty. The bathrooms are ancient and have no shower. They expect you to pay $10 via an app for day use in the park, but we left after 30 mins. The stickleburs in the grass here are very bad and they are everywhere. Our 3 yr old ran barefoot through the grass right in front of the campground bathroom and just fell over. He was crying and his feet were bleeding from these things and I've never seen ones this bad.nThe crystal digging part is awesome every time, but we will never be back to this TERRIBLE swim area again. We have WAY better parks all over Oklahoma to visit and I'd say this is the worst that we have been to.

So much muck! We worked our way through so much disgusting sludge hoping for deeper water to swim. We gave up at waist deep and fought our way back. The view was beautiful but I wouldn't recommend going to swim. :-(

What a fun experience! I didn't think we would be there very long so we didn't plan ahead. Big mistake! I just brought a shovel and pail. No sunscreen, only one pair of clothes, no water, no snacks. I started out standing and digging a little, next thing you know I am all down on the ground digging around with my hands, sand in places you don't want to know. We had so much fun looking for crystals and little clusters before we knew it our arms were starting to burn.nTake my advice and go prepared even if you don't think you're going to stay because it's more fun than you even thought.

If you're looking for a good place to swim that has deep waters then this is not the place as the deepest part of the lake is 4 feet but if you wanna wade in beautiful wavy water and walk in the soft sand or just sit and enjoy the wind from over the water this is your place. It was quiet and only a few people. They have some spots for cooking out and tables as well. We arrived around 5 pm and the facilities were closed. Overall, we had a great time and the kids really enjoyed it as well.
