I'm not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from unless people are expecting the Marriott at a campground! This was my first time visiting fort wilderness and it has been great! Manager & owner have been so nice. Campground is close to the casino, restaurants, stores and just an hour drive from Gatlinburg! This was our elopement/ honeymoon trip and we have had a wonderful time!!! We WILL be back!!

Over all we had a good experience. We came for the Great Smoky Mt. Train Ride. The campground was only a short distance away. It seems to be a small business owner owned. I try to support them when I can. We stayed in the cozy cabins. I knew what I was in for so I was happy with it. And it was plenty of room for the three of us. The bathhouses need updating and go good SCRUBBING. I would have felt better if it looked like they were cleaned throughout the day. The water was hot though after it warmed up. Overall, I cant complain especially since the price was so cheap.

Positive: Lots of trees. Pool, playground, and volleyball net. Good distance to smokies and blue ridge.nnWhole campground is on steep hill. Narrow steep entrance, hard to see if others are coming until too late.nElectrical is iffy, connection boxes hard to plug into so low to ground, not having breaker at box for safety, electric wire run up over road held up looks like shoe string.nnTINY spots. most decent ones taken up by long term residents.nnMany residents are nice and respectful, but a few play terrible guitar, chain dogs up outside, and idle truck for hours in morning getting ready for work.nnWe will not be staying here again and recommend you view campsite and spot interested in before reservation!nnOnly a few of the cabins look to be in decent spots, most are basically a shed and barely have parking spot.

Seems like a decent campground. We are new to camping so not entirely up to speed on the quality of campgrounds. The rates are reasonable. There does seem to be some work done to some of their sites. Not as nice and well maintained as some other campgrounds we have visited. Everything seemed to work fine but there were some power wires running across the ground exposed. The site we were on really needed the grass mowed. It was peaceful and quiet for the most part. Saw one occurrence of people on a golf cart letting their dogs run loose and and barking. As we camp more we may find this is the norm but these things jumped out at us. The pool was clean and looked well maintained. Being here and seeing the sites I would definitely pick a site other than the one we choose. There were others that would have been more desirable to us. Just to be clear there were no issues during our stay just saw some things that could be improved.
