Beautiful trails through forests to some stunning views of the Potomac River. The Canyon trail is an out and back down a hill then back up. The Blockhouse Trail will take you to the overlook (and is used by a good number of horses). It also started getting pretty full of hikers around noon.

Nice escape outdoors. Only downside was we could not connect to the C&O canal path.

Excellent trail. Beautiful view of the river!

Great hike, we did the Wood Trail one and it was easy with two young kids (3 and 6). Arrived before 10 and only crossed 3 other families, but is was fuller by the time we headed back around 11:30. Bring lots of repellent, as there are many mosquitoes. Parking is somewhat small, but we were able to easily find one. You can see the Potomac at the end of the Canyon Trail, but there is no way to get there unless you want to walk knee deep into a small river and cross over.

My family came here for a small Christmas Eve hike and it was nice! We only went down to the canal and back, but my mom and her bad knee could handle it with the help of hiking sticks.
