Kids loved ringing the school bell. The schoolhouse sits back in the woods, approximately .75 miles from parking. To get inside the school, it is only open the first Sunday of the month from April to October from 1p-4p.

The 1893 school house is open to the public with a guide the first Sunday of the month from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. It was worth the walk and very enjoyable to see the school. It has about 20 wooden desks and chairs, like Little House on the Prairie, a teacher's desk and chalkboard. There were old books, old artifacts, and a water bucket. There were some wooden toys that the children could play with and the school bell cord could be pulled to make the school bell ring. There were a few steps to climb up in to the school. There is a porta-potty outside.nnLocation: It is down the Froggy Hollow trail about 15 minutes, which is a nice, flat, fine gravel trail. There is a parking lot which can get full on sunny days. Farther down the hill, there is a an another parking lot.

I was running on the trails in Little Bennett State Park. A nice 7 mile loop from the golf course parking lot and past the Kingsley Schoolhouse. Trails are well maintained and the park in pretty.

One of my favorite places to hike and take a break from the day. Be prepared for mud.
