I'm new to Lake Charles and we were trying out all the parks in the area, to find a good one. I like that this park is in a nice, quiet residential area. Easy to find. A big plus for clean, unlocked bathroom access. My son enjoyed playing on the playground with the other kids, and was happy to see squirrels in the trees.
Great. Has baseball field, pool, basketball court, tennis courts, and 2 giant playgrounds for the little ones. Truly a great park.

I used to love this park. It had all the amenities a family could possibly ask for. And it's not far from us so that's a plus. But due to a recent issue that had nothing to do with the court they decided to close the basketball court and strip the goals down. Now I totally understand that the issue was a severe one but it wasn't due to a basketball game so why punish all the kids for the ignorances of some young adults hanging out? It's a public park, maybe cameras and better lighting might help? Even security could determine some of the craziness but taking away their basketball courts is just not fair. And we wonder why the kids are cutting up Lake Charles has nothing to offer them and what they offer, they surely take away.
