Not pictured: the best fried okra I've ever had. Killed them on my drive before I could sit and look at all the majesty that was lunch from Gus's!nReally fresh and tasty big chicken tenders, hearty portions of everything, amazing mac & cheese, this was a nice treat! Many bonus points for eco-friendly to-go box and cutlery! LOVE to see businesses that care. Will be back many times!
After eating this chicken I have a new goal in life. That is to find Gus and marry him to get more of this chicken! I am a straight married man from Pennsylvania, but my wife will get over it.nnBut seriously, the food was awesome! Ordered on door dash and the food came quickly and was still hot. Stop reading reviews and just buy it already!
Thinking about coming here? Do it! The chicken is crispy, juicy and spicy. Not spicy in an overwhelming way, but spicy enough for you to notice it’s not like regular fried chicken.nnGreens were solid. Mac was pretty good, but you don’t come to Gus’ for the mac n cheese, you come to Gus’ for the chicken.
Our family was not crazy about the meals. The staff was friendly; we had a 20 min wait, which was fine.nSince so many people speak so highly, we went again. Once again, the staff was friendly, the price is fair, the food had a nice spice and crunch, but everything but the breast was overcooked and dry.nI will go there again if others I am with recommend going, but it will not be my choice.nUpdate February 2021: I tried the Chamblee location, and it was not overcooked considerably better, almost like a different restaurant.
