Rio Grande Nature Center State Park

Cordially greeted by park officials at check-in. Adequate parking. Well-maintained walking paths. Lots of opportunities to see wildlife.

$3 for parking, but with great views of the mountains and shady walking trails. In the fall there are lots of birds to see who are migrating south, as well as the changing colors of the towering cottonwood trees.

Fairly clean. Water was good temperature. Kids had a blast. Just be prepared to walk a bit. I took a roller cooler. It made it but I probably wouldn't take it again. Use a cart with bigger wheels or back pack in your supplies.

Quaint trails. Nature learning center, bird watching area indoors, snacks available for purchase in the visitors center. Very clean public restrooms indoors. Lots of trails for biking, and walking. Heavily shaded pathways offer sun relief ☀️
