I come here every Sunday morning to start my hike on The James River. They have added a nice set of beaches and picnic tables recently which have been a lovely addition. You can walk the island easily on the walkways. Hang out and picnic, play Frisbee, catch ball, Yoga. It is a well used and well loved location on the river.

Was there for my daughter's senior portraits. The weather was great and the opportunity for great backdrops was abundant. Love the geese and ducks in the canal.

Great place to spend a sunny day. Paved circle around island for bikes and strollers. Connects to canal walk and bridge that crosses the James River.

Beautiful park for a peace of mind. Be sure to stroll down to the slave trail. So much history in one place. Great self care activity.

Beautiful place to enjoy some yoga and meditation, while learning some rva history
