Great space for a easy hike or bike ride. Plenty of rocks to catch some rays. Awesome green space with plenty of river and RVA skyline views.
Very nice Island for a hike, walk or bike ride. The rocks make a lovely swimming hole, there is also a rock climbing area at the flooded quarry. There's some old buildings for exploring. And the footbridge is really something with ramps so it's easily accessible to bikes and handicapped people.
Super great place to get close to fast moving water over rock. Cool geology is everywhere!
My son and I went here with our dogs and found all kinds of trails to explore. There are plenty to choose from, dirt paths through woods (watch out for mountain bikers) and if you are into a more challenging hike, climbing the rocks along the river is fun.
It was a good nature park. There are sometimes natural pools and slidesnnI just wish there was more drinking water.n(Note) Be sure to bring drinking water.
