We moved in on August and we had to break our lease towards end of the year. We gave our notice to apartment management and they told us we can break the lease and if someone rent the apartment we dont need to pay the remaining 2 month lease.nLong story short Yolanda the former property manager told us they found someone to rent the apartment and they are moving in on January first 2020. We moved out on December 26th.nI checked with the staff and Yolanda personally after couple days to make sure our account is closed and we dont owe anything.nnI have all the email and voice mail messages from her and other staff.nnNow after 9 month I just got an email stating we still owe $351 for couple days of rent responsibility which we were told by the former manager that renters are going to move in and some unpaid utilities.nnWe were misled and lied to by your former property manager and the new manager is unprofessional about solving the situation.nnThis is ridiculous after 9 month, why nobody reached out to us after we moved out. This just does not seem fair and professional.nnReconsider renting at this place, they may reach out to you after a year and ask you to pay some non sense money!
Do not trust this apartment complex! We lived there for 6 months and within that time, they had new management come in and want to increase rent and try to kick out all the renters as much as possible so they could get new tenants to pay higher rent. Kept trying to remove us when their was a government shut down. No insulation in the walls so you can hear even neighbors conversation on a phone. Appliances always broke down and the worst they were RACIAL PROFILING my boyfriend. Evicted a 80 year old woman in wheel chair and threw all her stuff out in the back because of the government shut down as well. I would rate them a zero if i could.
Super gorgeous apartments but I am extremely miserable here and cannot wait to break my lease and it’s only been 4 days! The walls are super thin and my neighbors are Extremely loud every night until about 3 am. I can hear phone convos, yelling, laughing, TVs, coughing, sneezing, moaning you name it! It has come to the point where I have been falling asleep at work because I have been unable to sleep. I seriously don’t know what I have done moving here. I should’ve checked the reviews first. Because according to everyone else, this has been an ongoing issue for awhile. Apparently the only thing that can be done is generously asking my neighbors to keep it down but I SHOULD not have to do that if we all pay monthly rent to live comfortably and freely in our own space. I am TIRED already. I WILL NOT be able to do this for a whole year..
Overall, I like living here. I like that the complex is all one building with elevators and the trash chute, mailboxes, and leasing office inside. I feel like the staff here has a high turnover, but the building's groundskeeper/custodian/maintenance head is always so kind. Mona in the office is fantastic and knows a lot of residents on a first-name basis, which I like.nnI have to take away two stars for a few reasons: I know apartments are a business, but it's obvious that the owner cut a lot of corners with quality construction. The paint is cheap, the exterior is white lines painted on red stucco, and the walls are paper thin. I can very clearly hear my neighbors on both sides, including innocuous things like their phone alarms ringing in the morning and their telephone conversations. I've lived in apartments for years, so I know that that comes with the territory, but this particular property is really problematic in that regard. Artena has also sent out emails saying that the pool was going to be built earlier this month, but I have seen nothing in terms of construction. In general, I find that Artena tends to over-promise and under-deliver.nnI do mostly like living here, but once I move on from my current (work-related) location, I'll be looking more carefully for quality over aesthetics in my next place.
The management are very nice. Rodney the maintenance man is equally as nice.nnNice place to call a home. Everything is nicely put together. I'll highly recommend Artena Manassas.
