If I could give 10 stars I could. Since leaving the south 4 years ago for NJ I've missed good southern food. We were in the area for a long weekend and picked Southern Eats because it had catfish on the menu. We were not disappointed the service was on point, the catfish and greens almost brought a tear to my eye. Fresh, hot, crispy, seasoned. Would drive 5.5 hours just to eat here again!

Saw this place on the news and decided to give them a try to support a local business. Don't regret that decision at all the hospitality alone will bring me back. Also the cherry limeade was like the best thing I ever tasted that's another thing I'll come back for. Give them a try. Highly recommended.

Visited this place for the first time. I feel that I'm pretty fair with reviews, so I'm not posting this to discredit the restaurant, but in my personal opinion, this is not a place I can see myself visiting again. Prices for the food were extremely high for the portion sizes and quality of food you get. I'm from the south and I would not even say that this place is comparable to southern food. We ordered the meatloaf which tasted like TV dinner Salisbury steak. The lemon pepper wings were also not good. I gave this place 2 stars because they did have decent fried green tomatoes.

We had the best experience ever at Southern Eats. It just opened in March in downtown Norfolk. The local draft beer selection and the local liquor to the area are well worth the trip. The ribs are made to order and you can see them putting their heart and soul into the food from the open kitchen plan.

Good but not super great. The only thing that was really good was the sweet potato cheesecake. They also forgot our 2 sweet teas.
