Nice place to free lance. Pay one day and free lance the other. No money needed.Great scenic place for photos. You meet awesome people here. And lots of family fun. If you're willing and experienced, you may take a hike here as well.
We visited in March, but being a dry year, there wasn't much snow. Beautiful views of Mt. Tallac. Campground is closed for the season, but plenty of parking along the road to use the trails.
Pulled me over because I drive a nice vehicle... kids at the booth charged me $125 for the wrong pass ... rangers harassed me pretty much... I dislike this place
It was a very pleasant experience. The camp grounds are kept clean and the staff are really nice people. The bathrooms are in excellent condition and clean. I really liked how the light was on at night. The Fallen Leaf lake is within walking distance and it's worth it! The water is crystal clear and refreshingly cool. The view will take your breath away. The camp ground is a 20 minute drive to the grocery store, bike rentals and little small shops. I will be returning again with family and friends.
The campground parking is closed now 12/26/20 but there's good parking and clear enough road for regular passenger cars to drive up. There's a small pathway from the road to walk thru a snow packed pathway to the lake. Beautiful views and relaxing beaches.
