Sadly, Philmont has stated that all structures of the Dean Cow Camp were lost in the Ute Park fire on May 31st, 2018. But what is awesome about this place is the rock formations, and you can't burn them! Don't worry guys. Philmont will rebuild the showers. :)
Dean Cow is a hippy climbing camp located in a lush narrow valley. This Philmont Staff camp offers a couple climbing walls, “warm” showers and volley ball pit where cow ball is played in the evenings. We enjoyed our stay in this camp despite our late arrival. The camp is long and narrow and your camp site can be located a long ways from the camp lodge and showers.
