Campground is great. Cimarron canyon is always beautiful. Little sad after the fires but the campgrounds are still great. But the camp host was awful. We came in late one evening. Paid our money and was only staying that night we arrived then leaving the next afternoon. She accused us of not paying, and was very hateful. These public campgrounds are great and usually an awesome inexpensive place to stay. But here of late, the camp hosts are very rude and not helpful at all. They act as if they own the camp sites and want no one around. It happened down the road from Ponderosa as well. Give it a try though, maybe it will be a different host and be a pleasurable experience.
Unexpected place to find. Cheap overnight camping. Friendly hosts.
There are four secluded tent only sites down a trail at the end of the parking lot, awesome sites.
Small, quiet. Has the basics.
