I was sad and disappointed for my first time at Pine Creek Cookhouse. The quality of food was lacking. Cost is high for the quality of food; I mentioned it to the restaurant staff which they agreed.nnI enjoyed a conversation with the employees, enjoyed the hike down and went to WHITE HOUSE TAVERN at staff recommendation.nnThe owner and chef should do better!
My husband and I xc-skied to Pinecreek and had an excellent time and dining experience. We’ll be coming back here again and we highly recommend it!

Views are spectacular, food is good, service was indifferent. Not surly or haphazard, just perfunctory and slightly disinterested. When the check came (unbidden to hurry us out), and we saw a 20% tip automatically added for just 2 of us, an explanation presented itself: No need to dazzle the guests if the tip is guaranteed. We elected to acquiesce and not to make a fuss and spoil the occasion, but the audacity was certainly noted. Oh and beware the wasps if you're eating outside.
