My brother and his family get a spot for their pop-up camper every summer and we always join them. Gorgeous beaches, nice little food/amenities stand (limited for Covid-19 right now), good shower facilities, and, if you're a history buff, hiking/driving through the various WWII bunkers, housing, etc is pretty cool. Also great for day use, boat launching.

After reading the description of the only site available to us (88) we weren't expecting any privacy at all, but much to our surprise the space was very generous in size, both length and width. (We have a 22 foot motorhome with one slide-out.) There were some trees and bushes between our spot and those on either side of us that helped with the privacy.nGreat access to beach, and of course being that close to the water means more wind, but it was very much worth that to be close enough for a person dependent on supplemental oxygen to be able to walk to the waterfront. We'll definitely request that spot again!

Love this campground..our family has been going since about 1968.And we have our family reunions there every year..as with all Washington parks some years it's beautiful and others it's a down pour..we go every June..miss out on crabbing as it starts there in July..but tons to do ..easy walks ..some hiking..and close enough to Port Townsend..and other parks such as Ft Warden and a Day trip to Forks ( for those Twilight fans) . Beautiful scenery.. clamming and oyster picking within miles..good dock for those who chose to fish..all around good park to go ..must make reservations early like six months early ( but that also is with most all state parks ) There's also houses to rent in the upper park ..their the old officers houses and the stewards house..small museum there and tours thru the old hospital..all the big cannons still there to climb around ( I actually don't think their cannons but BIG cannon type of things..a large area in lower campground to fly kites and a small play park..Has a small store/gift shop where you can buy from hamburgers and ice cream cones to toys n bumper stickers ( typical tourists things)

Always great place to camp and visit Port Townsend, and of course James Gandhi's great wine at Marrowstone Vineyards.
