Great place to check out a cool shipwreck. Very rocky no matter what route you take to get here. Bring nice comfy/supportive shoes and water. Read up on the shipwreck before to appreciate the entire experience.

This is a cool spot. And the 60th anniversary is coming up next week! It's amazing that after 60 years the wreckage is still on the shore. It is very interesting to see and it's a historical reminder of tragedy.nnGetting to the shipwreck is always more difficult than I remember. I remember it as a nice easy walk along the beach. In actuality there is not much of a trail. And the trail consists of many, many loose rocks. The juice is definitely worth the squeeze, but allow for more time than one would expect for such a short coastal jaunt.

Sharing the entrance info for others because I appreciated the help from a local. My 7 year old and I drove over an hour and a half to realize the address on Google Maps, though accurate in the location, is not where you can enter the trail.nnThe trail begins across the street of residence address 2501 Paseo Del Mar. You can find FREE street parking right around there as well. As others suggest, ankle support hiking shoes are the best, however we made it with minor discomfort in (my son) Crocs rain boots and (me) ankle Adidas ud83eudd26ud83eudd23!nnWe climbed down slowly but easily since we didn't wear the right shoes. But it wasn't hard, we just had to go slow.nnLittle to no shade, so hats and sunblock highly suggested!nnGood luck, have fun and be careful!

It might be a bit challenging to get here. The beach is not the easiest walk, but fun for sure.

Super easy trip down the cliff for fearless rock climbers. Park on Paseo Del Mar by the school and almost die a couple times until you are at the beach below. The wreck is nearly gone but the guts of it are scattered around the point. Mind the locals who guard their surf habitat.
