Plenty of long, paved walking paths which are good for runners and families. There's plenty of parking available and many picnic tables. Close proximity to DeVou park, multiple playgrounds, and the golf course.

I love Fairview Park. It's so beautiful in the spring when the honeysuckle is blooming and the fireflies are out. It's a great place to jog or walk my dog. There is a couple of nice lookouts, one view admiring the train yard and the other with a very pretty picturesque vista of downtown. Also a stone and tiled staircase of exactly 200 steps to Mcmicken Avenue if your up for it, be forewarned tho- it's an extremely long trudge back up those 200 steps. There are some really beautiful old growth gingko trees there too, and I found a trail near the front that may be used for hiking or maintenance, I'm not sure, it was pretty overgrown so I didn't follow to the end. May go back with my machete though hehe. All in all it's a nice little park that my dog and I got to everyday because it's a stone's throw from the house, so I'm kinda forced to like by lack of choice lol! But seriously, I genuinely love Fairview. Take your loved one on a walk through there at dusk in late May and June when the honeysuckle is in bloom and the fireflies are out. It's almost otherworldly with the firefly light blinking and the smell of the honeysuckle suffocating your senses and the tall graceful ginkgo trees canopying it all. Lovely place in the city and always very quiet.
