Simply put, Joy is the best accountant I’ve ever had.nnI’m a self-employed musician in the NYC area with 4 sources of income, a business in a commercial space, and a studio & office in my home. I have a lot of business tax deductions and my income tax forms are complicated.nnIn 2010 I moved from NYC to Vermont for 2 years. I decided to look for an accountant in the area rather than using my Manhattan accountant who I’d been with for 7 years, as I like to meet face-to-face when doing my income tax forms. I remembered driving by Joy’s sign on the way to VT so I gave her a call. When she told me her price I was a little skeptical since it was modest compared to what my NYC accountant had been charging, but I liked her friendly confident demeanor so I made an appointment. I’m so glad I did! I was pleasantly surprised at how knowledgeable Joy was, not only about NYS tax law, but also VT tax law (I had changed to VT residency that year), and how relaxed and drama-free it was working with her. She is very fast but never seems rushed like accountants I had used before.nnJoy has been doing my taxes every year since, even though I moved back to the NYC area 7 years ago. Thank you Joy!nnJust wanted to add that I still rely on Joy to get my taxes done and to take my calls when I have questions about certain financial matters. It's now October of 2020. Joy helped me get my 2019 taxes in on time even though I waited till the last possible day of my extension (Oct 15th!). How many other accountants would make the time to do that?n-James
