Lakewood Vineyards

Just had a wonderful tasting served by Javier (not his real name). No wait, lovely wines, knowledgeable (disclaimer: I know nothing about wine, so I’m pretty easily impressed), good conversation, recommendations for good local cuisine... everything two friends on a girls weekend could want. Recommend 100%.

Was a little chilly outside to really enjoy the view. Tasting was done downstairs with 4 other groups at the same time, all socially distanced. The wine tasting was fun and the wines were good too. Forget the guys name, but he made the experience much more enjoyable.

We were so glad we wandered into this place on the Seneca Wine Trail, on our way to Watkins Glen. My friends and I had a fantastic time tasting wines for our first time with Terrence outside on the deck. He welcomed us to explore the vineyard and enjoy a bottle in their other outdoor seating. It was hard to see the lake from the elevation, but the scenery is still great. We didn’t expect to fall in love with the wines so much that we stocked up on bottles to take home. Our favorites were on the sweet side: Lakewood Niagara and Valvin Muscat. They gave us a discount after the tasting. The staff was very friendly and gave us advice on touring the State Park. 100% would come back.

My wife did the taste testing and said they were all good. We bought several bottles of Niagara to.bring home. It was very tasty!! Here is the view from place!! Also a easy walk path down to where you can see water better!

Inside staff is great. They have labs inside to greet you so props to you. But once you get outside... don’t expect the staff to be family friendly. Don’t know his name but the 30ish year old with vans shoes and skater pants has little to no time to pour you wine or look at your family. Really disappointed with the outside staff, when the people on the inside are so sweet and kind. It only takes one person. If you want to not get talked down too the entire time.... maybe this isn’t the place for you. Sucks too because we really wanted wine from them.
