Nine Gun Battery

Fenced off with warning signs everywhere. Had a very eerie feeling to it, like something of an abandoned Soviet military installation, but right near the shore here in the States. Very neat. Cheers.

Beautiful area for good photo opportunities.

Cool little, place, but felt there wasn't really much to see to warrant spending time there.

It was a beautiful sunny day the weather was perfect. It's great place to go to show your family or friends some of the history that New Jersey holds. I highly recommend going and visiting Sandy Hook national park you won't be disappointed especially if you are a military buff. I really am not but I was highly impressed.

The beauty in desolation is eerie. This whole isthmus is a case study on the power of nature, and how it will reign supreme in the end. Since the superstorm Sandy, the structures have become unsafe, most areas are fenced off now with posted warnings. This area is also rife with wildlife, including migratory birds.
