Maine Forest Yurts

We had such a fantastic weekend! The property is beautiful, and so is the yurt itself-so far above my expectations! Bob and Paige are wonderful hosts, very friendly, welcoming, and helpful (responded immediately to my text not knowing how to light the grill lol) we had a great siblings weekend and will be back. Thanks guys!

Gorgeous. We went for a field trip with my daughter's class. Very well maintained and they had cool huts called yurts that they rent out.

Highly recommend it. Our family has been here twice now and it is so much fun.

I had a wonderful time staying with my partner at Maine Forest Yurts. We arrived in the winter and were looking forward to some quiet escape time together, and we got it. The location was beautiful, the Yurt itself was very spacious and had everything we needed (no showers, but there was an outhouse right nearby, and water and kitchen supplies).nnWe brought our dog as well, who loved walking on the trails, and was very comfortable in the yurt. Noise from neighbors was pretty much nonexistent, and we basically felt like we had the place to ourselves. I would highly recommend going in the winter - the river that's right nearby freezes over, and you can walk across it for miles. It's breathtaking.nnI'll also add that the man who got us set up was awesome. Genius that I am, the first thing I did when I got to the site was try to get my old Prius up an icy hill, and immediately wound up in a ditch. He quickly got a snowmobile and got all our stuff to the Yurt, then got his own truck and got my car out of the ditch for me. He was super helpful / supportive with anything else we needed.nnThe only complaint I have is that it got really cold at night. We had a wood fire stove, but I must have loaded it up wrong, because I had to keep refilling it every hour or so, and it burned out quickly / didn't produce much heat. I'm pretty sure this was my fault, since the yurt was very warm and comfortable during the day (i.e. when I wasn't the one running the show). Just something to keep in mind if you go, pay attention to the instructions or know your way around a wood stove!nnI look forward to going back next year and would highly recommend it to anyone.
