Denny's Avon

Can't get your order right.

My husband, my son and I went tonthis Denny's for the first time around noon on a Sunday. We have been to the one in Speedway before, but thought this one in Avon might be nicer since it is newer. It was not! The restaurant was not very crowded, but it took forever to get our food! We were about to just leave because we were starving. The waitress never checked in with us to let us know what the hold up was. They seemed to have a lot of takeout orders that took priority over the people in the restaurant. When we finally got our food, the order was not 100% correct. She did realize that and fix it. The food itself was okay, but not really worth the money. My son did enjoy his pancakes. We would have been better off just getting McDonald's or Burger King breakfast. I doubt we will go back there again.

When we walked in, it was not busy at all and there seemed to be an appropriate number of staff. We had to wait to be seated, wait to have a server come take our orders for DRINKS and then had to wait an extremely long time just for 1 cheesecake and 2 molten lava cakes(which was all we ordered). After a long wait, our server came over to tell us that the BATTER for the chocolate lava cake was frozen. All we ended up getting was 2 glasses of water and a small slice of cheesecake and we were there for an overall time of 40 minutes.

We visited this location last night and we were sadly disappointed. We were waiting on whom I assume was the manager to help us. He took our order. Service was slow even though they looked to be staffed appropriately and it wasn’t busy. Once we got our food we were never checked on. The check was dropped off to the end of the table without a word spoken. No refills for anyone. My son ordered to many pancakes so we kept waiting around for someone to check on us yet no one was in sight so we ended up leaving behind an entire order of pancakes. I will say the girl who checked us out was very polite. I’m typically pretty easy to please but the lack of customer service by the manager was disappointing. Won’t be returning to that location.

Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Nice good selection! Fair prices. Bourbon Chicken is a favorite!
