Hirosaki Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

We are excited to have one of our favorite restaurants back. Staff is always great.nnUse to love this place.. Since it has changed owners, it has really gone down hill. The food is just bland no flavor. When you request to add more sauces for flavor, they look at you dumb. I can stay home and fix a plain steak, colored rice and steamed veggies.nnDecided to give another try. Used to be my favorite restaurant. Go to a Japanese restaurant for some Japanese flavor and nothing. Bland food is all you get here. Meat gets a little salt and pepper. Pay extra for fried rice and you just get reheated steam rice colored brown. Cannot see wasting my time going here again for bland decorated food.

2 things. I rarely do reviews and I feel like all Japanese Steakhouses are all the same. But, this place shocked me. Sean, our server, was very personable and prompt. Our hibachi chef, Hui, was funny and accommodating. Lastly, the food is delicious. My wife and I will definitely be back!

The food was cooked right but was not quite tasting as spectacular as it could have been. I tasted very little flavor from the meat and sides. Probably due to the lack of seasoning on some parts. And for whatever reason it was not a lot of showmanship at our grill. We only had the fire but no volcano or etc. The only way I got to see a volcano hibachi trick was by looking at another grill within the restaurant. The staff was very pleasant and nice. They were very good at making sure we were taken care of with drinks and condiments. Great place to eat but might need to work on some consistency in some area. Other than the seasoning I was very impress with the quality of the food. Meat was very tender and everything was cooked to order.

Stopped in here to check out the half price sushi. It was delish!!! Good ambiance. Good service. A little slow for carryout. Definitely call ahead or order online if you can. Looking forward to trying the hibachi girls here.

We visit every week on a weekday. We were impressed the first time with an amazing waitress and unbelievable prices on sushi. I recommend coming on a Wednesday and come hungry! Lots of food for the price. They even let us share a hibachi meal. We nearly needed rolled out of the place we were so full and we still had leftovers to take home.
